Ok... the story... weird but true...
I read an article on CBS News about further strife between Russia and Ukraine over dolphins. Apparently, in the 1960's Soviet Russia had a program in which they trained dolphins to carry bombs, alert their trainers to approaching submarines and to search for lost military goods at the bottom of the ocean. The article didn't state what degree of success this program had. Anywho, after the cold war ended, Ukraine took it upon themselves to keep these dolphins as a welfare to animals gesture as these animals were not safe to have out in the oceans attacking pleasure boaters and swimmers. Well, now Russia wants their combat dolphins back and is making a stink about it.
I found this article so funny that I had to spoof some old Soviet propaganda with Comrade Flippy. I really thought the article had to be satire, but alas it is true.
