Description

Dollfie/Obitsu 60 cm Men's Trousers
Description:
This pattern is for a male 60 cm doll, either Dollfie (Volks) brand or Obitsu brand. The waist measurement is 19 cm and the hips (widest point) are 26 cm. The inseam will measure 28.5 cm. It will make a pair of trousers/ dress slacks with a slight tapered leg. The front pockets are faux pockets. There are no back pockets.
Instructions:
1.Copy pattern with scanner or copy machine so that you have one waist band. 2 front panels, 2 back panels and 2 pocket inserts. Verify that the scale is correct by measuring the scale check on pattern.
2.Lay all pieces on your fabric and pin the pattern paper to fabric. For one of your front and back panels, flip over the paper piece so that you have it reversed from the first front and back panels. Cut our pieces. If you are using pattern fabric, make sure the pattern is going the same direction on all pieces.
3. Hand sew the front pockets of the front panels with the hem folded into the pocket. Also hand sew the hem on each fly flap.
4.Attach the pocket insert so that the corner fills out the rectangle of the front panel or each front panel. You can either hand sew this or sew with a sewing machine. only sew short little pits and the top and side of the pocket hem in step three.
5.Sew the pleats in each panel.
6. Match each front panel with a back panel so that the outside of each pane faces inward. Sew the inseam and the out seam with the sewing machine. Leave about 5 cm without stitching at the bottom hem of each pants leg.
7. Hem the end of each leg (where the foot would come out) of each panel. Once done, match up the pant leg panels and finish out the inseam and out seam.
8. Turn one leg right side out and insert into the inside out leg. Match up the inseam and the out seam. The "J" shaped cut out on each back panel will line up. Sew from the matched up inseam following the "J" out to the back of the pants to the top of the back of the pants.
9.Do the same as step 8 following the "J" toward the front of the pants. Stop sewing right where the fly flap starts.
10.Turn the pants right side out and fit them to your doll. If they are big, you can take them in like you sewed the pleats at the back middle crotch seam (the "J" seam in step 8).
11.Take your waist band piece and fold one long edge over about a 1 cm toward the negative side of the fabric. iron down to make a crease. Then fold over the rest of the waist band along the top long edge and crease. If you were to look at it on end, it would look like the letter "G".
12.Fit the waist band on the right side out pants so that the top edge of the pants are being "eaten" by the "G" shape about half way in the "G". The waist band will be longer that the top of the pants. Leave the excess evenly at each end where the fly flaps are. Sew the waist band to the pants top hem so that the attaching stitch passes through the top of the "G", the top of the pants, and the lower part of the "G".
13. Fold over each end of the waist band inward at each fly flap so that it is even with the seam of the fly flaps and sew. Cut off the excess.
14. Lay the fly flaps so that the left flap overlaps the right (men's ahs the left side on top for pants and shirt closure). With this configuration attach your closing option of your choice. Velcro, snap, small zipper or button. I chose to put a small snap where a button would go and attached a button to hide the snap stitching.
